What do we do:
The Spring meeting is our annual business meeting where elections and by-law changes take place. It is also the start of our fiscal year which runs from June 1st – May 31st.
Most “Spring” meetings actually occur in June since they are scheduled for the first weekend after Memorial Day. We plan our trips 1 1/2 years in advance. The Spring meeting is where we decide what resorts are going to bid on upcoming trips.
On Friday night:
Clubs get a chance to meet with resorts and vendors and learn about new destinations or good offers. The annual Resort Showcase trade show offers an excellent opportunity to network as well,
On Saturday:
Clubs have the chance to recommend destinations. This is also the time for the annual Resort-Club Best Ball Golf Tournament. If you’re not a golfer, there is the FSC Tennis Tournament, FSC Volleyball Tournament or relaxing by the pool with tropical drinks. The evening brings the Awards Banquet.
On Sunday:
The list is refined to 3-4 resorts per trip (Jan, Feb, March). Once the “short list” is developed, the Director of Bids sends out a Request for Proposal to each resort on the shortlist (typically 4 for each trip).
Recently we’ve further expanded our networking to include information exchanges between clubs, technology presentations and invited guest speakers.
